Junior to Mid-level SAS Programmers

Datafugue is hiring full-time Statistical Programmers to work on the American Community Survey at the Census Bureau. We are involved in the testing and development of the complex software to process millions of records of ACS respondent data and produce extensive data products (tabulations, microdata, etc.). We are also supporting the Census Bureau as they prepare for the 2020 decenniel census. The 2020 Census will be the first incorporating the Internet Response Mode. The data published by Census is used by businesses, media, and researchers across the world. This work is at the forefront of Data Science!

SAS Code

Applicants must be experienced programming in SAS, especially macro programming. Applications at the Census are custom developed and make little use of built-in SAS PROCEDURES. Instead, to make highly efficient software and process big data, custom routines are developed making heavy use of SAS macros, multiple SAS modules, and driver scripts in Unix Shell. Knowledge of the Unix environment and some experience with shell programming is preferred, but not required. Some experience or education in survey statistics is expected. Knowledge of perl is a plus, too.

Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 depending on experience. Contact with your resume and cover letter, or with any questions about the positions.
